Founding Principal UX/UI Designer

This is not a design job. It is the chance to define the relationship between humans and AI at the most intimate scale imaginable: a founder and their Digital Co-Founder. We are seeking a Founding Principal UX/UI Designer to join our braintrust as the architect of a product experience that has no precedent in SaaS. You will not be designing screens. You will be designing a sentient interface, one that senses a founder's anxiety at 2 AM when payroll is due, celebrates their wins when a new customer signs, and quietly handles the operational weight so they can focus on the work that only they can do. This is liminal design: the space between human intent and machine execution, made invisible.

There are 36.2 million SME founders in the US, and they share a common experience: cognitive overload. They are brilliant at their craft, whether that is building software, running a restaurant, or consulting for enterprises, but they are crushed by the operational machinery of running a company. Formation paperwork, compliance deadlines, bookkeeping, invoicing, tax filings, customer follow-ups. The tools that exist today (QuickBooks, LegalZoom, HubSpot, Gusto) each solve one slice of the problem, but together they create a fragmented, exhausting, context-switching nightmare. We are building something fundamentally different: a single Digital Co-Founder that handles all of it, that learns who the founder is, and that morphs its personality, pace, and interface to match theirs.

You will architect the entire experience layer of this product across two modalities: voice and text. On the voice side, you will design conversational flows for our AI voice agent built on LiveKit and WebRTC, where latency under 800ms is not a nice-to-have but a hard requirement, and where stacked endpointing and turn-taking must feel as natural as talking to a trusted colleague. On the visual side, you will design the Owner's Cockpit (the authenticated dashboard where founders see their entire business at a glance), the Daily Huddle (a morning briefing that adapts to what matters today), onboarding flows that feel like a conversation rather than a form, and the PLG surfaces (landing pages, widgets, teasers) that convert visitors into users. Every surface must work in English and Spanish from day one.

You will pioneer what we call calm technology applied to enterprise-grade complexity. The product must feel simple even when it is orchestrating formation filings, double-entry bookkeeping, compliance calendars, and AI-powered customer acquisition behind the scenes. You will study founder psychology deeply: when to surface information proactively, when to stay silent, when to ask for confirmation (Human-in-the-Loop for high-risk actions like money movement and legal filings), and when to simply execute. You will build a design system that scales from a founding team to dozens of designers, establishing the component library, interaction patterns, accessibility standards, and motion language that define the CR3SCENDO AI brand.

You will work alongside the CEO, the Distinguished Engineer, and the Principal Front-End Engineer as a founding braintrust of four. Your voice carries equal weight in product decisions. You will mentor the designers who join after you, setting the creative bar and building a design culture rooted in empathy, rigor, and relentless user advocacy. This is not a role where someone else defines what you build. You define it.
