See the first year, day one to year one
Day 1: Pick the entity shape that fits your income picture.
Sole prop, LLC, or LLC with S-Corp election (Form 2553). We walk you through the trade-offs in plain English with the numbers attached to your real situation, file with the Secretary of State, run the EIN application, open the bank account, and appoint the registered agent.
Day 1 onward: Client portal and engagement contracts live.
Your branded portal, your standard engagement template, your default NDA, your statement of work shape, all captured and ready. A new client signs an engagement in the same hour you decide to take them on.
Week 1 onward: Daily Huddle.
A two-minute morning briefing built from your real data. What is due today, which invoice cleared, which client has a deliverable approaching, which quarterly deadline is two weeks out. Voice-first or read-it.
Month 1 onward: Books from day one, expenses categorized, mileage tracked.
Double-entry accounting, automatic categorization at the swipe, bank reconciliation, monthly close. Export to QuickBooks or Xero whenever, on terms you control. We are the bookkeeper of record.
Quarter 1 onward: Estimated tax payments handled. Compliance never slips.
Quarterly Form 1040-ES drafted from your real income, surfaced on the Daily Huddle two weeks before each deadline, submitted on your approval. Annual report, franchise tax, registered agent renewal, every federal and state deadline tracked. Nothing surprises you.
Year 1: Clean books to your CPA, clean 1099s to the IRS, time back in your column.
Year-end is a rollup of twelve clean monthly closes. Your CPA gets the book they wished every client gave them. Every contractor you paid gets a 1099 on time. You get the weekend back.
These are the six beats that decide whether a solo practice scales or stays a side-hustle. We have walked them ourselves; CR3SCENDO AI is its own first customer (Customer Zero is a Prime Directive). The platform shape you see is the shape we use to run ourselves.
The reality. Handled.
Every unbilled hour is lost income, eaten by invoicing, taxes, contracts, and chasing payments.
CR3SCENDO AI runs the back office, so more of your hours stay billable.
Frequently asked
Questions from independent professionals
Questions from solo consultants, fractional executives, advisors, coaches, and independent contractors running a one-person services business. Surfaced from real conversations with people whose work is the billable hour and whose back-office is everything that erodes it. The shape of these answers reflects what the cohort cares about most: protecting billable hours, looking like a firm with a back-office (because you are one), keeping multi-client work cleanly separated, and keeping the books, the invoicing, the quarterly taxes, and the 1099s on a rhythm so April never surprises you.
I bill by the hour. How does CR3SCENDO AI give me hours back?
By taking the back-office work off your plate so the hours you bill stay billable. Invoicing assembled and sent on the cadence you set. Payment follow-up on autopilot. Expense categorization done at the swipe, not at month-end. Quarterly estimated taxes calculated from your real income and surfaced on the Daily Huddle so you never pay a late-payment penalty. 1099 paperwork drafted for every contractor you pay over the year. Mileage tracked when you opt in. The pattern is the same across every back-office surface: drafted, not discussed. You review, you approve, the work goes out. The math on what this returns to a $150 to $400 per hour professional is straightforward: an hour a week of admin recovered is four to seven thousand dollars a year of billable time back in your column.
I want to look like a firm with a back-office. I am not. What does CR3SCENDO AI do?
We are your back-office. Branded invoice templates that match your engagement letter style. A professional client portal where active engagements live (statements of work, deliverables, time logs you choose to share, invoices and payment history). Auto-acknowledged inbound emails from clients while you are on a call. Scheduling that respects your real calendar plus a buffer for prep and decompression. Contract and NDA templates drafted from your standard terms (not generic LegalZoom boilerplate) so a new client never sees that you are racing to assemble paperwork between calls. The point: nothing about your operating surface should signal that there is no team behind you. There IS a team behind you. We are it.
I have 5 to 30 active clients at any moment. How do you keep them straight?
Per-client context inside one platform. Every invoice, every contract, every conversation, every deliverable, every expense, every payment lives under the client it belongs to. Reporting per client (time logged, revenue earned, margin contribution, payment behavior, contract terms about to renew) is one click. Reporting across the book of business is the parent view. You never duplicate a contact, you never reconcile two CRMs against each other, you never wonder which client a charge on your card belongs to. The platform is multi-tenant for our own customers (we run on the same shape ourselves; Customer Zero is a Prime Directive). That same multi-tenant shape gives you per-client cleanliness without per-client cost.
Quarterly estimated taxes terrify me. How does this work?
Three things. First, your books are clean every month, not scrambled together in April. Double-entry accounting, automatic categorization, bank reconciliation, monthly close. Second, the estimated-tax calculation runs against your real income on a real schedule. We surface the number on the Daily Huddle two weeks before each quarterly deadline (April, June, September, January), draft the IRS Form 1040-ES, and on your approval submit the payment. Third, your year-end is a rollup of clean monthly closes, not an archaeological dig. Your CPA gets a clean book; you get back the weekend you would have lost. We are NOT a substitute for a CPA on aggressive tax strategy or complex situations. We make sure the data your CPA works with is clean and the deadlines never slip.
I pay subcontractors, designers, VAs. The 1099 process is a nightmare. Does this fix it?
Yes. Every contractor you pay over the year is tracked from the first invoice. Their W-9 is collected at the first payment, stored in the Vault with column-level AES-256-GCM encryption, never asked for again. When January arrives, every 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC is drafted, the recipient copies go out, the IRS copies are e-filed on your behalf, the deadline never slips. You stop being the person chasing W-9s in late December. The contractors you work with start seeing you as the professional who has paperwork together. That is a referral-pump for an independent.
Every new client asks for a contract or an NDA. I cobble templates together. Help?
Your standard engagement contract, your mutual NDA, your one-way NDA, your statement of work template, your master services agreement (when you need one), all drafted from your terms, not a generic library. We work with you up front to capture your default rates, your standard scope language, your IP and ownership clauses, your termination notice, your indemnification posture, your governing-law jurisdiction. Once captured, generating a new engagement contract for a new client is plain-English questions (client name, engagement scope, fee structure, start date) and the document is drafted, ready for redlines or e-signature. The signed copy stores in the Vault. The execution date hits your compliance calendar. Renewals fire on the cadence you set. We are not your attorney. We make the paperwork your attorney built reusable.
LLC, S-Corp election, or sole prop? Who decides?
You decide; we walk you through the trade-offs in plain English. Sole proprietorship is the simplest, costs you nothing to start, but offers no liability shield and no path to tax efficiency at higher income. LLC adds the liability shield, keeps pass-through tax treatment, fits most independents through the first six figures of net income. Single-member LLC with an S-Corp election (Form 2553) often makes sense once net income meaningfully exceeds a reasonable salary in your role, because the salary plus distribution split saves on self-employment tax. Each path has trade-offs (entity maintenance, payroll obligations, accounting complexity); we surface them with the numbers attached to your real income picture, not in the abstract. You pick. We file. The deadline-tracker handles everything that just got created (state annual report, franchise tax, registered agent, federal filings).
Can I learn from how other independent professionals price, scope, and structure contracts, without giving up my client data?
Yes, through the Cohort Benefit Policy. The default is: your data stays private to you. Period. Separately, and only with your explicit opt-in at sign-up, we aggregate anonymized signals across the cohort (typical day-rate ranges by domain and experience level, common contract-termination clauses, quarterly-tax timing patterns, retainer vs project-fee mix by client size). You see what the cohort does without seeing who. They see what you do without seeing who you are. Nobody sees identifying data; the aggregation enforces a k-anonymity floor before any signal surfaces. You can opt out at any time, retroactively (your historical signal is removed from future aggregates) and prospectively. The point is to make the cohort smarter together, on your terms.
What does this cost a solo professional?
Less than what you spend on coffee a month. We have not published a hard dollar figure pre-GA, but the pricing philosophy is binding: every customer gets every capability, and our Liminal mode pricing exists specifically so a solo professional is not charged like a fifty-person firm. As your book of business grows past the configured threshold, pricing grows with you on a path you can see, with thresholds you can configure. The math we keep coming back to: if the platform returns one billable hour a week to a $150 to $400 per hour professional, the subscription pays for itself many times over in the first month. Pre-GA, we are inviting independents into the waitlist with the understanding that the price will land in the coffee band, not in the firm-software band.
How is this different from QuickBooks plus HoneyBook plus Bonsai plus a CPA?
Those are good tools for individual problems. QuickBooks (or Wave, or FreshBooks) does books. HoneyBook (or Dubsado, or Bonsai) does client management and invoicing. A CPA does taxes. A calendar tool does scheduling. A separate password manager holds client credentials. A separate Notion or Dropbox holds contracts. Each tool does one thing, and none of them talk to each other. Six logins. Six invoices. Reconciliation by hand every month. CR3SCENDO AI is the operating system that does all of it end-to-end, connected, on the same client context, with the same audit trail. One login. One invoice. One view of the work and the money behind it. A CPA still plays a role for tax strategy at the edges; everything else they used to do for you, the platform does on a rhythm that does not skip.
Your craft, with a co-founder behind it.
You are the product. Don't let the business of running a business become the bottleneck on your craft. CR3SCENDO AI runs the company so you stay billable.
“You bill what you build. We run the rest.”
